Mark Coorey:

DeskMates have come a long way since the founder Mark Coorey came up with the idea of Oska. Oska was originally designed to help Japanese speakers to learn English. Mark thought it would be easier and more enjoyable for them if they had a fun animated character to watch. Oska, the grey koala, was born. The original Oska was the result of the painstaking meticulous work of Mark Coorey. Every frame of his animation was made in a simple paint program one pixel at a time.

Oska was so well loved that he stole the show and became a program of his own, Oska DeskMate. Mark Coorey with the help of a dedicated paper and pencil animated team bought Oska to the desktop of millions around the world from every country.

After stealing the heart of animation and cute critter lovers, Mark Coorey decided to move on to another target to get Tahni to steal the hearts of men (and many women). Tahni is a long legged red head, in a pink bikini, that makes her home on your desktop. This 2D animated character has all the fun a girl could have and more, and she lets you share it with her. Click on her to make her react to your touch, but be careful, this one has attitude.

Selecting a team of budding animators from the local School of Visual Arts, Mark Coorey and his team went on to make their biggest undertaking with TeeCee. This fun loving gorilla gets into all kinds of trouble on your desktop and takes you along for the ride. Making full use of the skills of 2d, paper and pencil animators, TeeCee is full of colour and fun for everyone.

What is more fun that one DeskMate? Two of course. Mark Coorey made this possible by reprogramming the workings behind the DeskMates to allow them to take turns to entertain you on your desktop. From this day on, all of the DeskMate family would be at home on your PC. Never short of an idea other well loved characters followed, including Kahli, FatB and Maeka.
